Massage Matters is Whitney Schroeder, LMT, on Lexington Avenue in Mansfield. Whether you are here to relax, to work out an area of tension, or to deal with chronic pain that has been going on for years, the session is customized to what you need that day rather than run off a script. Licensed since 2007, owner here since 2012, and in the same building she co-owns. Sessions are $35 for thirty minutes and $55 for an hour, by appointment.
Whether you are looking to relax, relieve areas of tension, or are coming in to relieve chronic pain, all sessions are customized to meet your specific needs. In practice that means the first few minutes are spent finding out what is going on before any decision gets made about how to work. A shoulder that seized up at a desk this week and a low back that has hurt for four years do not want the same session, and treating them the same way is why a lot of people conclude massage does not work for them.
The core session, and what most people book. Thirty minutes at $35 if you want a specific area addressed, or a full hour at $55 for whole body work. Pressure and pace are set by you and adjusted as we go, because the useful pressure is the one you can actually breathe through, not the hardest one anyone can apply.
Focused work for a specific condition or injury rather than general relaxation. Whitney spent six years working in a chiropractic practice before opening her own, so soft tissue work alongside other treatment, and the pace of real recovery, is familiar ground rather than something new.
A very light touch technique working with the head, neck and spine. It surprises people, because almost nothing appears to be happening. It is often the right approach when deeper work is too much, for headaches, for jaw tension, and for anyone whose system reacts badly to heavy pressure.
Slow, sustained work on the connective tissue that wraps and links everything rather than on the muscle alone. This is often the answer when a spot keeps tightening back up a day or two after every massage. It is worth doing when the problem is a pattern rather than a single sore muscle.
Seated, fully clothed, no oil, and priced simply at $1.00 per minute so you pay for exactly the time you use. Good for necks and shoulders, good if you are short on time, and good if you have never had a massage before and would rather start with something low commitment.
Available for any session, at the same $35 and $55 rates. They are a genuinely good gift for the person in your life who carries all their stress in their shoulders and will never book anything for themselves. Call (419) 544-2322 to arrange one.
This is a small practice, which is the point of it. You see the same therapist every visit, so nobody has to be told the whole history again from the start and the work picks up where it left off. Whitney and a fellow Mansfield therapist bought this building in late 2018 after years of working in it, so this is not a rented suite she might move out of next year.
(419) 544-2322, or send the form on this page. Massages are by appointment only, so please do not just stop in. Tell us thirty minutes or an hour and roughly what is going on.
A few minutes at the start to find out what hurts, what you do all day, what you have already tried and what you are hoping for. That conversation is what makes the session yours instead of generic.
Thirty minutes or a full hour, quiet, unhurried, and no phone ringing in the next room. Pressure is set by you and can change at any point. Speak up during the session, that is far more useful than mentioning it afterward.
You will get honest guidance on whether this is a one visit thing or something worth a few sessions, plus anything simple you can do between visits. Chronic issues respond to a schedule, and one massage a year is a nice hour but it will not undo years of a desk.
Whitney Schroeder graduated from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in Findlay, Ohio in 2007. She spent the next six years as a massage therapist at Sawyer Chiropractic and Massage Therapy here in Mansfield, working alongside chiropractic care, which is where a lot of the medical and injury focused side of her practice comes from. In 2012 she opened Massage Matters as her own practice, and in late 2018 she and a fellow Mansfield therapist bought the building they had already been working in for years. That is roughly nineteen years licensed and fourteen years running her own room, all of it in the same town. The practice covers therapeutic massage, medical massage, craniosacral therapy and fascial release, and every session is customized to whether you are here to relax, to relieve a specific area of tension, or to deal with pain that has been going on a long time.
Massages are by appointment only. Monday and Wednesday have both a morning and an afternoon block, Thursday is mornings only, and Tuesday and Friday are afternoons only. Wednesday runs latest, to 6:00 pm. Call (419) 544-2322 to find a time that works.

Tell us whether you want thirty minutes or a full hour, and a sentence about what is going on. A shoulder that has been bothering you, low back pain, headaches, a jaw that will not unclench, or simply that you are worn out and need an hour where nobody wants anything from you. All of those are good reasons to book.
Massages are by appointment only, so please call ahead rather than stopping in. Prices are subject to change, and the current rates are $35 for thirty minutes and $55 for a full hour.
$49 one time setup, then $79/month, no contract. Hosting, lead capture, traffic tracking, and your own dashboard are all included.
